Mr. Valhlberg does it again. I must admit though, my head tilted a bit in the beginning of the book when the present day characters were "notified" of their assignments to travel to Sherwood Forest. It all made sense later. As a previous reviewer stated earlier, this is a book to be enjoyed in the medieval folk lore genre, good verses evil, with lines clearly defined. Lastly, what a bonus of having more illustrations in this work. I'd like to see a coffee table size book of all the character's illustrations in these books released. Now that would be cool. Looking forward to his next adventure.Product details

David is such a wonderful writer. He used such incredible imagination and empowering words. I hope to hear more from him!
I really enjoyed the magical characteristics of this story. The present day setting combined with the ancestral aspect made it a fun and entertaining read ~ not many authors branch out of the ordinary the way you did. Way to go, Dave!
David guides his reader with his unique style of writing, as the reader enters a world within a forest full of mystery. The readers mind travels to a time in which evil versus good and becomes a part of the quest set forth by Robin Hood . A magical/mystical adventure with Robin Hood at the helm. The readers mind opens up to all the possibilities the imagination holds. The reader becomes a part of a magical journey of a quest to battle evil in a place that held mystery to all who entered.
This is a wonderful book! The author integrates modern day with the mythical/magical time past of Robin Hood. Switching mythical to modern dialogue enhanced the reader involvement in the journeys of the characters. I found myself completely caught up in the story right from the beginning. It was so fun to read. I highly reccomend this book!
Once again Dave has used his mastery of the English language, modern day and ancient, to paint pictures with words. This tale piques your interest at the onset and just won't let go. A very good read for anyone who enjoys the imagination at work fairies, elves and sorcery intertwined with 21st century scientists and bad guys.
My usual genre in books is fiction/mysteries with a little romance thrown in. I don't usually read books with make-believe characters in them. I get frustrated when I can't even pronounce their names and the places they come from or what they even are (creatures)etc. But, this book I could!
I read David's first two books and liked them very much. I like stories of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. These books tell of a Robin Hood you haven't heard of. If you like books like "Lord of the Rings" or books with old "folklore" in them, this is the one for you. It has battles and romance and makes you laugh.
Oh, and Chris Hopkins' artwork is fantastic. You don't have to hope you see the characters the way they were written! You can actually see them! My favorite was the Leaf-Dreamers.
