Are you an aspiring writer searching for direction? Are you an experienced writer struggling with writer's block? Need something to get those creative juices flowing? Well, this is the book for you. This book offers you over 100 writing prompts for the horror genre.
This isn't a book of simple one-line prompts, either. This is a book filled with vivid, descriptive, and thorough writing prompts – perfect for beginners and pros. The horror conjured from these prompts is also creative and unique as it features ghosts, zombies, vampires, cannibals, werewolves, and more. They're perfect for writing short scary stories, and they can be easily expanded to create novellas, novels, a blog series, and even scripts. Are you taking creative writing classes? Here's your source for horror. Get ready to write!

I'm only giving this 3 stars because horror isn't really my genre. I tend more towards fantasy and science fiction with some romance thrown in for good measure. That said.... I enjoyed a lot of the prompts here. Not all have to be taken as straight up horror - you can use a lot of them to add horror elements to another story that stays closer to your comfort zone. While a few remind me intensely of movies with just a couple minor changes (watch a youtube clip and you die), the majority are actually fairly original and made me think of different ways I can write something. In my mind, that's what makes a good writing prompt - it makes you think! I'm definitely going to check out the second book in the series and will probably be back for a couple more prompts from this one!Product details
